How to enable www in url for Wordpress MU

Wordpress team decided that www in URL is bad, so they put a bunch of checks into the software to make it stop working if you try to create site with URL starting with www.
Well, imagine situation when you host your blog under your main site domain (for SEO purposes) and www is CNAME to your CDN. You cannot make your top level domain to be CNAME to CDN so www is must have. As result I have to patch Wordpress every time they come up with new version. Attached file is the patch for WPMU 2.9.2 to enable functionality with www domains The patch also includes CGI variable translaction for HTTP_HOST if you run your WPMU from behind proxy.

You can download patch from attachments section of this page at the bottom.
